Like biographies? Read High Calling by Evelyn Husband. This is the stirring portrait of Rick Husband, commander of the space shuttle Columbia. In these pages, his widow, Evelyn, leads you on Rick’s journey from a childhood dream, through the heart of the American space program, and into the vastness of space itself. As you experience the events leading up to the final, tragic moments of the Columbia, you will be inspired by the faith of Rick Husband. It is his faith that powerfully transforms this account of heartbreaking loss into a story of courage, hope and triumph.
Want to be inspired? Read Wisdom from Women in the Bible by Edith Deen. The author has gathered from the scriptures a wondrous variety of women– active and quiet, mothers and widows, wise and foolish. Through her thoughtful presentation of their stories readers will gain greater insight into their own lives. Another good book is From Head to Heart by Robert McGee. This vital and interesting study will help readers get their heads and hearts in tune.
Need pepping up? Add Life to Your Years shows how our lives can have meaning and purpose at any age. This book is an encouraging collection of true stories demonstrating that we’re never too old to serve the Lord. Energize your Life is a very helpful book for everyone who is prepared to live a life of interaction with the One Whose yoke is easy and Whose burden is light.
Like fiction? The Redemption Series by Karen Kingsbury and Gary Smalley includes five books that are inspiring, intriguing and uplifting.

Cross connections  by Chrishon ducker

The Youth of Grace Presbyterian have been on the go. Here are just of a few of the things they have been up to in December on top of the usual demands of the Christmas season. Whitney plays Basketball for Forest High, Sarah Peterman plays for St. John’s, while Ashley Pucek manages the Vanguard team. West Andrews plays Football for the Rec. league and Ryder plays soccer for Westport. Leslie P., Lisa Y. and Joanne Al. have talked Chrishon into joining them in the Light of Joy Ballet. The Capitanos are involved in Piano recitals.

Cross Connection Moms took a group of Junior High and Senior High School girls shopping December 15th; there was dinner in the Fellowship Hall on the 17th catered by Boston market; a youth led evening Service on the 19th; and a ski trip from December 27th—31st.

In the meantime Rachel G. is planning a mission trip to Mexico: Bobby B., Josh A., Ryan and Jonathan S.and Rusty P. are praying about going to Haiti to build a cistern in June.
