 Missionary of the Month

Dhan & dolly Lalsee Ministries in Action Miami, Florida

Administrator/Director of Church Growth Strategy English-speaking Caribbean

Dhan and Dolly have been in full time Christian ministry since 1986.  For seventeen years they lived and worked in Grenada in particular but also worked in the other Caribbean islands.  Their ministry has been to develop a core group of believers in churches that are trained in disciple-making, which they in turn duplicate in the lives of others, as they are won for Christ.

Then in early 2003 Dhan was asked to be Administrator/Director of Church Growth in the English speaking Caribbean.  In addition since then he has become Executive Director of the Ministry.  During this time they were attempting to sell their home in Grenada but had been unsuccessful.  Then the hurricanes of 2004 hit Grenada and many of the islands of the Caribbean. Dhan and Dolly's home had minor damage compared to the majority of the structures on Grenada.

Here are some excerpts from his latest newsletter. "Although Florida was hit by four hurricanes this year, thankfully, Miami was spared.  Several islands where we have worked over the years received a battering.  I visited Grenada (my homeland).  The picture is heart-breaking. Over 95% of the homes and almost every school and church building lost their roofs; all infra structure on the island has been severely damaged.  Aid workers have said that this was the worst they had ever seen.  Grand Cayman lost most of its shoreline property and experienced massive flooding. Jamaica and the Bahamas also sustained widespread loss and, in Haiti yet again, over 1,800 lives were lost.

In the face of this devastation, we have launched a massive relief program aimed at helping our brethren and friends in the Caribbean, many of whom have no insurance.  We have already dispatched a container load of food and other supplies to Haiti and have taken in initial supplies (shipped four containers) to Grenada and Grand Cayman. These last few months have been extraordinary.  At times, one felt hemmed in by the Lord.  But we can be sure He is working out His purposes.  However, His Church must be involved in what He is doing by availing ourselves of the unprecedented opportunities these catastrophic events now present.  If ever there is need for His people to 'be of one mind for the faith of the gospel' (Phil. 1:27), it is now; not merely because the needs before us are urgent, but because our gracious and merciful Lord is giving us the opportunity to be obedient to Him, that His Name may be known.

Know that we deeply appreciate your service to the Lord and your faithfulness to this ministry.  God bless you for your example of commitment.  Thanks so much for your faithfulness in supporting our ministry.  We greatly value your friendship and partnership.  Thank you for the special collection of food, water, linens, money and other items that you have sent for the relief efforts in the Caribbean."

We anticipate late in January or the beginning of February to have Dhan and Dolly visit us and share more on their plans for help with the recovery on Grenada and other Caribbean islands and how we can continue to be a part in these efforts.
