Although we were reminded at Christmas that Jesus is the reason for the season, at Grace Building Blocks school we are reminded often that HE is the reason we bring families, staff and children together to allow HIS work in all our lives.
Jesus is the reason for this ministry to FAMILIES from all over Marion County. For over 12 years, GBB has presented the Gospel to children and families from many different churches and many NON-churched. This fall GBB had over 100 families being reached by this ministry.
Jesus is the reason why STAFF members come and give of Christ’s love each day! God has brought 17 staff members to GBB this year, all who recognize the huge responsibility of modeling the character of Christ to young, impressionable lives between the ages of 2 and 8 (second graders). We THANK GOD for the staff He has called.
Jesus is the reason that CHILDREN are being shaped for eternity through Bible stories, character building, conflict resolution, Bible memory and songs, along with high standards for academics. So far this year 130 children have been touched by this ministry. This past month, we saw evidence of Jesus in the heart of these three areas. One of our teachers has her grandchildren living with her, due to heartbreaking family situations. One of the GBB families “adopted” these grandchildren for Christmas gifts, and came in with armloads of wrapped goodies. The teacher responded with awe and gratitude, commenting to her class that “God is good, ALL the time”! Spontaneously, one little girl broke out in song, melodiously singing “God is so good”. Tears came to my eyes, and we were reminded once again that JESUS is the reason why lives are being changed for eternity here at GBB.
