The WIC Board has chosen as our Bible verse for the year John 15:5 “I am the Vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
Sanctity of Life is January 16th and your WIC Board will hold our WPC baby shower at our Sunday evening service that night. Please support this ministry by bringing (unwrapped) baby gifts or your financial support.
Our Bread Basket ministry is still in need of a new leader. We also need volunteers to deliver our cakes to Oakhurst Nursing Home. Please, if you can help we’d appreciate it.
Our next Board Meeting is January 11th.
Text Box: January 2005 Page 5 Text Box: Greetings in 2005! By the time you receive this, Larry and I will be about a month away from getting back into our home—what a great way to begin the New Year! Thanks for all of your prayers, calls, and encouraging words. And a special thanks to Mike Biganzoli for doing such a wonderful job as contractor. Thanks also to Ray, Mitch, Andy, Rick and Ken (all Christian businessmen who had a hand in putting the house back together) and those from the church ( Pastor Carl, Dick Johnson, Dan Standish, and Tim & Bobby Britton) for coming to our aid so quickly last September. It has truly been a “stretching” experience for us, but God has taught us many lessons which have strengthened our faith. All things work together for good…...
As the New Year starts the choir will immediately begin rehearsals for Easter as it comes early this year (in March). If you would like to be a part of this please see me. We have welcomed several new members to the choir recently and that is a real encouragement to me. We would like to see even more participate in this vital ministry.
We don’t often say thank you to those who are busy behind the scenes on Sundays, so I want to take this opportunity to thank all the sound technicians who are so faithful each week—without them you wouldn’t hear anything! Thanks also to those in the Choir and Praise Team who faithfully lead you in worship each week; for those who lead our hymns; to Anna who faithfully prepares our hearts for worship playing the organ/piano each week, and our many instrumentalists who offer their talents for God’s Glory. Our ushers take up offerings and greet you weekly with a bulletin; our nursery workers give up a Sunday service to care for our church children; others teach Children’s Church...and on and on. It’s not one or two people who minister, but many hands coming together to make our Worship Service a sweet offering to God. Now the question is...what gifts or talents do you have to offer God? If you know what they are, are you using them to build up the body of believers? If not, I ask that you prayerfully consider what God wants you to do this coming year. What a blessing to each other and an outreach to the community this church could have in 2005 with everyone getting involved. I challenge you to let God use you this year to honor and glorify Him.
Happy New Year! Oil Lamp
